These terms are an agreement between you and Girato ("we", "us"). By downloading, installing or using Girato — the desktop app, the web app or this website — you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use Girato.
Your licence
Girato is licensed, not sold. Subject to these terms and your plan, we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and use Girato:
- Free: the full editor, with a limited number of watermark-free exports and a small Girato badge on exports thereafter.
- Pro (subscription or lifetime): clean, watermark-free exports plus the Pro features described on the pricing page, activatable on up to three of your devices.
You may use Girato and the videos you create with it for personal and commercial purposes — client work, marketing, courses, product demos, whatever you like.
What you may not do
- Resell, sublicense, rent or redistribute the Girato software itself.
- Share, publish or resell your licence key, or circumvent licensing, the device limit or the watermark.
- Reverse-engineer or tamper with the software except where that restriction is prohibited by law.
- Use Girato to record people or screens where you don't have the right or consent to do so, or to create anything unlawful.
Your content is yours
You own everything you record and create with Girato. Because recording, editing and export happen on your own device, we never receive, access or store your footage, audio or exports, and we claim no rights over them. You are responsible for what you record and for having the necessary rights and consents.
Plans, billing and cancellation
- Prices are shown at checkout. Subscriptions renew automatically each period until cancelled; a lifetime licence is a one-time payment.
- You can cancel a subscription at any time; it stays active until the end of the paid period and then stops renewing.
- Payments are handled by Stripe. Failed payments may suspend Pro access until resolved.
- Refunds are covered by our Refund Policy.
Availability and changes
We work to keep Girato running well but provide it on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We may update, change or discontinue features. A lifetime licence covers the app it was bought for and its ongoing updates for that product; it does not obligate us to build specific future features.
Disclaimers
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Girato is provided without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. We don't warrant that the software will be uninterrupted or error-free. Nothing in these terms limits your non-excludable statutory rights as a consumer.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Girato will not be liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses, or loss of data or profit, arising from your use of Girato. Our total liability for any claim relating to Girato is limited to the amount you paid us for it in the 12 months before the claim. Because your footage never leaves your device, you are responsible for backing up your own recordings and projects.
Termination
You may stop using Girato at any time. We may suspend or end your licence if you materially breach these terms (for example, sharing keys or circumventing licensing).
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and disputes are subject to the courts of England and Wales, unless mandatory consumer law in your country of residence says otherwise.
